Trajectory at Gary Lichtenstein Editions

May 3 – June 30, 2015

Gary Lichtenstein Editions presents Trajectory, an exhibition featuring original silkscreen prints created over the past four decades in four, very different studios. Exhibiting artists include Karl Benjamin, Tom Christopher, Robert Cottingham, Jane Dickson, Carole Feuerman, Robert Fried, Joanne Greenbaum, Bob Gruen, Charles Hinman, Robert Indiana, Robert Lazzarini, Richard Meier, Yigal Ozeri, Gary Panter and Shelter Serra. On view from May 3 to June 30, 2015, the exhibition is presented at Gary Lichtenstein Editions, on the second floor of Mana Contemporary.

Trajectory illustrates the evolution of a silkscreen studio over the course of forty years, through the eyes of the master printer and the works of the visionary artists with whom he has collaborated. Highlighted are the prints of Robert Fried, one of the first artists in San Francisco to significantly utilize silkscreen and one of Lichtenstein’s early mentors. The exhibition also showcases a wide variety of mediums including plastic (Jane Dickson), stainless steel (Robert Lazzarini) and rice paper (Richard Meier). The diversity of the artists, ranging from the geometric abstractions of Karl Benjamin and Charles Hinman, to the stunning photo realistic portraits by Yigal Ozeri, is a testament to the strength of the collaborations that have been fostered throughout the years.
